Introduction to Info Technology (CIS101)

Students identify the components of a typical computer system, explain how parts interact with each other, and define how computers process information. Students define the functions of popular application software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Students also discuss current events affecting the computer field and define the role of information technology in today's society.

Intro to Information Technology (CIS101)

This course is introduces students to computers and computing. Students are introduced to computer hardware software and operating systems. Also covered are the Internet, application software, databases, networks, computer security, mobile devices, software programming, IT privacy issues, and future trends in technology. Students will make use of the World Wide Web as a repository of the latest information and an integrated learning tool; develop an in-depth understanding of why computers are essential components in the business world and society in general.

Intro to Computer Applications (CIS116)

This course gives an overview of the Microsoft Office 2013 suite. Students gain a basic proficiency in application such as Word 2013, Excel 2013, Access 2013 and PowerPoint 2013 from within a Windows XP environment.
